Week 11: Cyclones, Captains and Crombie
The Latest from Aktiv: The Bomb Cyclone rolled through Denver and it was as fierce as forecast. We had temps in the 60s on Tuesday and a blizzard on Wednesday. That is Colorado in a nutshell!
What we are streaming: We went to "Captain Marvel" last weekend and that spurred us to dive back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the arrival of "Avengers: Endgame" on April 26th. So far we have watched: "Ant-Man and the Wasp", "Thor:Ragnarok", "Infinity War" and "Captain America:The First Avenger". The two snow days has significantly increased our screen time!
What we are listening to: Patty Griffin, one of Nate's very favorites, has a new album which is sublime. We secured tickets for Mumford and Sons and Lord Huron later this summer so we have been peppering our playlists with the best from those two great bands!
What we are reading: Leslie is plowing through some Deborah Crombie, a Texan who writes the most genuine modern day English crime mysteries set in London while Nate is reading "Lioness: Golda Meir and the Nation of Israel". Meir is a fascinating subject, who spent time living in Denver before she graduated from high school in Milwaukee and headed to Israel. In hardcover now, out in paperback next month.
Best things we read this week: 1. Trying times make you revisit great art, and so it goes with Bruce Springsteen; 2. Norway concedes that Canada has a larger moose...Canada definitely ends the conversation with one last "sorry"...; and, 3. Goldman Sachs ditches the suit for, well, it is unclear.
