Mattmar Baselayer Top Women

Mattmar is our new wool base layer, featuring a completely new and unique Varg pattern. The top has a jacquard design knitted directly into the fabric. Made from 100% soft merino wool, certified mulesing-free by Woolmark, it delivers natural warmth, breathability, and comfort. Perfect for high-intensity activities like hiking, climbing, or ski touring – keeping you warm without overheating. Scandinavian design meets functionality in a versatile base layer.

Fabric: Knitted 100% merino wool, 240 gsm, 19.5 micron.

Wool is naturally dirt and odor-resistant, so frequent washing isn't necessary. Instead, regularly air out your wool garments and spot-clean by hand when needed. This preserves the fibers, conserves water and energy, and helps prevent microfibers from polluting our waterways.

Proper care is key to extending the lifespan of your wool garments. Dirt, excessive wear, and damage can all affect the material’s durability.

Pilling is a normal occurrence with natural fibers like wool. Gently remove pills by hand or with a wool comb, available here at Varg, and dispose of them in the trash.

Our 100% merino wool base layers may shrink naturally by 1-2 cm in length after the first wash.

Never tumble dry wool. Instead, lay the garment flat on a towel or hang it gently to dry.
